Uganda

Uganda, or “The Pearl of Africa” as it is known, is a landlocked country in East Africa.   Bordered by Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake, on its southeastern side and two of Africa’s other great lakes (Edward and Albert) on its western side, Uganda offers a wide variety of activities for safari travelers.  This is a country with Big Five parks like Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth NP, but Uganda offers the added opportunity to see two of our closest primate relatives:  The mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest on the rim of the Great Rift Valley are the most famous – Uganda holds most of the world’s remaining population.  Less well known but just as captivating are the Chimpanzee populations in the Kibale Forest National Park.
